JUMP DRIVE - The Synopsis
Jimmy has been following up on local news and rumors regarding one of two sons of a man running for Mayor. Ron, the frightful charmer and playboy has a way with women, yet there's allegations against him that get swept under the rug. However, Jimmy ends up being in the wrong place at the right time despite orders from his mother to stay away from the story, and the could-be Mayor's house. One night Ron brings a girl home from a local bar and refuses to take "no" fo an answer. The situation becomes fatal, and Jimmy being a reporter in the making, witnesses the murder and unfortunately gets caught snooping around. Ron's older brother Steve has always been down on Ron for being so wild and loose wen it comes to women and being irresponsible. Once Steve finds out what Ron has done to the girl, Ron's despartion spirals and the story turns into a game of cat and mouse; yet Ron is playing for keeps at all cost. Jimmy escapes being caught, yet his car recognized by ron's driver. The next day, Jimmy reports the story to his mother who refuses to have anything to do with it, until Jimmy tells her that he's been following Ron, taking pictures of he and the women he brings home, along with a photo of Ron and the girl the night of the murder. All of Jimmy's photos are transferred from his digital camera to his Jump Drive, which could land Ron in prison should the murderous photo make it to the police.
Some things are forbidden, yet the truth must be told and justice served.
A Note from: Freddy Robinson-writer/director of Jump Drive
A special and encouraging note in regards to a special cast member of Jump Drive. On the day of the auditions whcich were held from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, a special talent showed up to the audition. Not to say other talented people didn't show up, or submitted headshots from 12 different states from New York to LA, this young man was sharp. Dominic Coccaro, a young man in his early 20's, had his mother bring him to the audition. Dominic was/is in a wheel chair, without the use of his arms or legs. Despite the physical challenges, Dominic had his mother I presume, hold up his audition sides so he could audition for the role of Jimmy. Not only did he audition for Jimmy, but he memorized the scene/sides and made awesome acting choices. Although I wasn't able to cast him as Jimmy, I created/added the role of Jason, Jimmy's witty older brother; he was that good and left my producing partners and I in awe. So, for all of you who make excuses about not being able to do this or that, etc, etc, take a look at a true inspiration in Dominic Coccaro. He had no excuses, just wanted something, went for it, and nailed it, despite the odds. Thank you, Dominic. Sincerely, Freddy Robinson |
